Lost Without You

The sun rises and shines through the thick growing trees,
I reach across the bed and hope to feel your warm skin.
The cold emptiness fills my heart and I curl up to hold my knees,
Shutting my eyes as tears fall to the pillow and I dream of what could have been.
But I feel so alone and terribly lost without you.

The sun crosses the sky and warms the fragrant flowers,
I reach across the path and hope to feel your strong hand.
The vast nothingness fills my grip and my heart feels unsafe and cowers,
Covering my eyes with dark glasses as the tears fall onto the sand.
Because I feel so alone and terribly lost without you.

The sun falls behind the mountains and lights the sky with purple and pink.
I reach across the sofa and hope to feel you wrap me into a loving caress.
The loneliness engulfs the room and my mind begins to sink.
I rub my eyes as the tears fall down my cheek and my soul drops to emptiness.
And I feel so alone and terribly lost without you.

The darkness fills the world and surrounds me like a cage.
I curse the blackness and scream at the brilliant moon hanging high in the sky.
The expanding desolation fills me with the deepest fear and rage.
I cast my eyes on the darkness, filled with tears and wishing I could die.
I AM so alone and terribly lost without you.
